2 days ago Sycuan Casino Resort began as a humble Bingo Palace in 1983. Now more than 37 years later, it has become a community landmark and one of San Diego’s premier casino and resort destinations. Sycuan recently completed a $260M expansion, which includes a 12-story luxury hotel tower with over 300 guest rooms and 57 suites. Now named Sycuan Golf Resort, the property was purchased and is currently owned by the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation. From Tribal Chairman Daniel Tucker on down The Tribe are prideful owners. The History of our San Diego Golf Courses
Our golf resort is comprised of 36 holes of Championship golf (Oak Glen and Willow Glen) and an 18-hole par three golf course (Pine Glen) to round out a spectacular 54-hole resort located in Dehesa Valley, just 30 minutes from the San Diego airport.
The original architect for all 54 holes of golf was Cecil Holingsworth. Due to severe flooding, the golf course was later redesigned by renowned golf course architect Ted Robinson, Sr. Robinson added elevation changes from tee boxes, green approaches, and tiers to several of the green complexes to demand that golfers skillfully manage their approaches. Lakes were added to demand more challenging golf shots, and bunkers were redesigned to aid in the aesthetics of the green complexes.
Today, Singing Hills Golf Resort is proud to host the Junior World Golf Championships, numerous SCGA and USGA Championship qualifiers, the San Diego Junior Amateur, the annual PGA Chapter Shootout, numerous local charity events, and has been the host golf course for events such as the US Junior Amateur.
Features of our Golf Courses
Bermuda Grass is used on the tee boxes, fairways, and rough and a combination of Poa and Bent on the greens. The fairways are wide and the greens are small and receptive to golf shots. You will often be able to find your ball within a few yards from where it landed.
Golf Memberships at the club give you daily access to prime tee times on one of the Championship golf courses and unlimited golf on any of the three courses. Members are also permitted to an unlimited amount of range balls, access to private practice holes, discounts on golf shop merchandise, SCGA handicap services, and private locker room and lounge access. Members are also extended a discounted rate on golf cars.
